Thomas C. Stuart,
Ph.D. is a technical specialist and
researcher in the chemical and biotechnology
practice group. Dr. Stuart assists
with the preparation and prosecution
of patent applications, analyzing
patents for infringement and validity,
and performs due diligence and freedom-to-operate
analyses in a variety of fields, including
biotechnology and the pharmaceutical
arts.
Prior to entering the intellectual
property field, Dr. Stuart was an
assistant research professor and co-director
of the Molecular Neuroscience Core
Facility at Tulane University, where
he investigated the molecular mechanisms
controlling the autonomic nervous
system. Dr. Stuart’s dissertation
thesis, conducted under the supervision
of Dr. Carol Burdsal, focused on the
regulation of mouse embryogenesis
by protein phosphatase 2A. Dr. Stuart
is also a graduate of the University
of South Alabama where he earned a
B.S. degree majoring in biology with
a minor in chemistry.
