Melissa Javier,
Ph.D., performs patent research at
the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
for U.S. and foreign patents, published
patent applications, and non-patent
literature in the chemical and biotechnological
group.
Dr. Javier graduated from the University
of La Verne (La Verne, CA), where
she received a Bachelor of Science
degree double majoring in Chemistry
and Biology. She also graduated from
Florida State University (Tallahassee,
FL) where she received a Ph.D. in
Chemistry. Dr. Javier worked with
Professor Geoffrey Strouse in the
division of Inorganic Chemistry, with
her research in the area of nanotechnology
and nanomaterials. Her dissertation
was focused on the use of CdSe quantum
dots for optical sensing.
