Subhashini K. Ayyalasomayajula specializes on conducting clearance, invalidity and infringement studies and opinions in the chemical and biotechnology practice group. She also focuses on preparation and prosecution of patent applications.

Dr. Ayyalasomayajula has technical expertise in the areas of receptor biology, stem cell biology and cellular therapies, antibody technology and therapies, therapies for cancer and autoimmune disease, genetics and genomics-related technologies, drug formulations, drug metabolism and delivery methods.

Dr. Ayyalasomayajula earned a doctorate degree in Immunology from George Mason University. Her thesis work addressed liposome induced cell-mediated immune amplification to prevent bacterial infection. Dr. Ayyalasomayajula also graduated from The George Mason University School of Law where she received her Juris Doctor degree with a particular emphasis on intellectual property.

Dr. Ayyalasomayajula is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Prior to entering the legal field, Dr. Ayyalasomayajula was a research fellow at Medical Sciences Research Institute conducting research in the area of Immunology, specifically with particle induced cell-mediated immunity.
